FLOW

FLOW – Fellowship. Learning. Outreach. Worship.
At 31st Street, FLOW is more than just an acronym—it’s our discipleship lifestyle. Through Fellowship, we build authentic relationships and community. With Learning, we grow deeper in God’s Word and spiritual understanding. In Outreach, we extend Christ’s love beyond our walls to serve others. And through Worship, we connect our hearts to God in spirit and truth. Together, these pillars create a living rhythm that helps us walk with Christ and lead others to do the same.

31st Active Ministries

At 31st Street, FLOW—Fellowship, Learning, Outreach, and Worship—is the guiding rhythm of our discipleship. It is more than a motto; it is the lifeblood of our ministries, fueling how we love, serve, and grow together.

  • Bethesda Support Center embodies the Support of FLOW, practicing radical hospitality and walking alongside our sheltered aand unsheltered neighbors with care, dignity, and resources to restore hope.

  • Gilead represents the Outreach of FLOW, reaching into the community with fresh food, holistic health education, and wellness initiatives that nourish both body and spirit.

  • The Mike McWilliams Family Center reflects the Fellowship and Learning of FLOW, becoming a vibrant hub where families are strengthened, youth are empowered, and the community flourishes through athletics, education, and growth opportunities.

Together, Bethesda, Gilead, and the Family Center bring FLOW to life—supporting the hurting, reaching the community, and building spaces where discipleship transforms lives and neighborhoods.

The unsheltered population of San Diego—over 10,000 individuals—holds a special place in the hearts of the 31st Street Family. At the Bethesda Support Center, we practice radical hospitality, creating a safe and welcoming space where hope is restored and dignity is honored. Our mission is clear: to walk alongside individuals facing homelessness, guiding them toward resources, support, and opportunities for transformation.

Through strategic partnerships and compassionate care, Bethesda is more than a support center—it is a bridge to stability, healing, and lasting change. Here, every person matters, every story is valued, and every step forward is celebrated.

At 31st Street, we believe health is wealth—and we’ve been blessed with both the message and the messengers to share it. Gilead is our vision for a healthier community, built on the truth that what we eat forms the foundation for the quality of life we experience.

Through a vibrant community garden and a farmers market, Gilead will provide access to fresh, “good” food that nourishes both body and spirit. With education rooted in both naturopathic wisdom and traditional medical knowledge, Gilead offers a truly holistic approach to wellness—empowering individuals and families to thrive in body, mind, and soul.

The Mike McWilliams Family Center is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of a beloved member of the 31st Street family. More than a building, it will serve as a vibrant hub where athletics, education, and family services come together to inspire growth, unity, and transformation.

Designed to uplift both our church and the broader community, the Family Center will stand as an epicenter of activity, opportunity, and hope—a place where lives are strengthened, families are supported, and the surrounding neighborhood flourishes.
